Have to admit, after buying a 60 pattern smock and eyeing up an L1A1 SLR, i'm thinking about acquiring 60's Borneo kit, if only to keep for the future when it gets rarer. What kit would I need for average infantry in the far east during that period? Would the 60 pattern olive green kit be in use by then? Presumably webbing is 58 pattern, Mk IV helmet, L1A1 SLR or Bren or Sterling SMG? Very much a beginner to the subject i'm afraid, but have a growing interest in the post WW2 era, both in Britain and abroad

I currently do SAS Borneo, kit for SAS and general service is normaly JG shirt / trousers, Beret or bush hat, boots dms with without putties, jungle boots, canvas/rubber British ones. Webbing is normally a mix of 44 and 58 patt, 44 patt large pack was a favourate, weapon mix is Sterling SMG, L1A1 SLR, GPMG, Bren L41 LMG. I currently use an AR15 as primary weapon,

Hope that helps
