THE MARAUDERS THE insatiably hungry veterans of 3rd Battalion openly styled them selves chow raiders and wore the small can openers provided in 10-in-1 rations pinned to their lapels as battalion insignia 5307th composite unit [provisional]

OK...The Domino sugar tablets arrived this morning...They have the same width and depth, but shorter length...I am sure we can live with that..

However, if you don't have the same zeal as me for these things, you DO have an alternative ...After trawling through the QMC book, I came accross this (writing about the C Ration):
"Those containing the lemon powder had 6 pressed tablets or a package containing 1.2 ounce of granulated sugar, while those containing soluble coffee had 3 pressed sugar tablets. No sugar was included in cans containing the cocoa beverage".

So, there we have it, a package of granulated sugar if you have a mind to, make a small package filled with approx 1.2 ounce (34g)...Save ye going out like me and sending to the U.S for sugar tablets.... ;)

To give you an idea of what to print, here I have scanned a package from an original C ration from 1951 I have in my collection....The dimensions are 6.5cm X 5 cm...

Following on from a few PM's I would like to post some photos of my K biscuits compared to the shortbread biscuits I bought for them...After taking the originals out the box, and re-examining them, I conclude they are indeed too small, though, probably better than anything else (?)...

Now, the alternative is to make your own, not difficult really if you can bake, or put your hand to anything...

for this option the measurement for the;
"K-1": length 77mm x width 29mm x depth 10mm...With "K-1 NABISCO" imprinted on top...

"K2": Length 72mm x 33mm x 5mm with "JOHNSTON K-2" imprinted on top...

Both folded celophane sealed...The K1 is dark coloured like a ginger biscuit, and the K2 is like a dark digestive...The imprint are both thin letters..

Go, I dare you to try...I am... ;)
